Outfit of the Day: Another $8.00 Dress

Can’t get enough of these adorable swing dresses from Old Navy! I snagged this one for 8 bucks – great bargain! These dresses are so versatile and can be worn tons of different ways!

Today I decided to pair it with my military vest and booties. It’s actually not hot as Satan’s armpit outside, so I was really comfortable and not sweating buckets! I added a braided belt for some definition around the waist, and a cute statement necklace as well. I really love this look. Simple but put together! Everything I’m wearing is from Old Navy, and I got all of it on sale/clearance as well. I can’t resist a good bargain!

I’m sure you’ll see this dress again soon – it’s just so cute and easy to wear. Can’t wait to find new ways to style it!

I love dressed like these because you can just throw them on and go. I love this scarf with it – adds just the right amount of color, and of course it matches my favorite bag! Also loving this cute booties from Target. Easy, cute, comfy. Can’t beat this outfit!

Outfit of the Day: Date Night

Last week Loft had a big sale, and obviously I couldn’t resist it. I got this super cute outfit which was perfect for a date night.

I picked up these bottoms thinking it was shorts, but when I got in the dressing room to try them on, I realized it was a skort! I haven’t worn a skort since middle school, so I was a little apprehensive, but it’s so cute! I paired it with this cute tank and cardigan. So easy to put together and comfy to wear, but also stylish and chic. And this Rocksbox necklace was the perfect finishing touch for the look.  Another good thing about this is that all these pieces can be worn separately or together, I can already think of multiple outfits I can make!

Outfit of the Day: Black and Pink

All of the items I’m wearing are old and things I’ve worn before – yay for new ways to wear old pieces! I love this printed shell from J.Crew Outlet. I’ve got two more in different colors.

To change it up a bit I layered my adorable tassel necklace and favorite statement necklace – they match perfectly, and I love how they look together.

Loving these lace up wedges from Target. They’re comfortable and really versatile!

Really love how this look came together, and it was really easy too! I’m thinking about challenging myself to a no-shop July. It would be really hard, but I think it would be fun to dig around in my closet and see what I can find! It’ll be a good challenge to find new ways to wear things. We’ll see how long I can last!

Outfit of the Day: Denim Shorts

Is there anything better than a great pair of denim shorts? I think not. These high-wasted distressed denim shorts from Loft are my current favorite. They’re soft and comfortable and oh so cute! They’re perfect for those crazy hot summer days when you can’t bear to wear anything but shorts and a cute top (like this adorable black and white gingham number!). Your outfit it weather-appropriate, but you still look cute and put together! I actually had my favorite oversized knit cardigan to wear over it, but I ditched it when I walked outside and realized it was 92615282 degrees.

Liebster Award

I was nominated for Liebster Award by the super sweet Yazzi from The Pretty Pomegranate! Make sure you check out her blog – she has great beauty tips and reviews!

I’ve never done one of these before, so I’m just going to follow her format. I’ll list 11 interest facts about myself (if I can think of that many!) and then answer the same questions Yazzi did.

Interesting facts:

1. I’m a broadcast captioner, which means I do the closed captions on live television. I hear everything at the same time as the viewer watching – there’s no time delay. It’s a difficult job, but I love it! My job is literally the most interesting thing about, so it’s all downhill from here, folks.

2. I have a dog named Trixie that I adopted from the Humane Society five years ago. She is the best, cutest, sweetest, most perfect dog ever. Yes, I’m one of those obsessive dog parents!

3. I’m weirdly obsessed with Dr. Sandra Lee aka Dr. Pimple Popper. If you don’t know who that is, you can check out her Instagram or find her on YouTube! *disclaimer* if you don’t like watching someone pop pimples, don’t check it out!

4. I went to London and Paris for the first time in March, and I can’t to go back! It was the best trip!

5. I’m really good at picking things up with my toes. Like really good.

6. I love Star Trek and Star Wars. You can blame my dad for that!

7. I’m very crafty and love to make things. I have a list of DIY projects to do when I have time!

8. I love to read. I have so many books they won’t fit on my bookshelves!

9. I love otters. I would like to have one as a pet. They are just SO cute!

11. I love Disney World! I think it’s magical, and I wish I was there right now!

1. If you could wake up tomorrow with the education, skills, and certifications necessary to perform any job, what would you choose for your new career and why?

I think I would love to be a personal stylist or interior decorator. I love fashion and design, and I think I would love to do it for a career.

2. What is your favorite thing to blog about and why?

Fashion! Obviously 😉 I love putting outfits together, shopping, and finding new ways to wear the things I have in my closet! I love being able to dress well, even on a budget!

3. What do you do to recharge and get back into the blogging frame of mind?
Every once in awhile I may not feel like posting or I’m just really busy. If that happens, I just give myself a day or two, then hop back on the blogging wagon. I also try to plan my outfits out in advance which is a big help.

4. What is one thing in your life that you’ve gotten to experience that you wish everyone else could experience as well?
Wow. This is a really tough question. I’m 27 years old, and I really can’t think of something that major that’s happened to me. I recently went on my first (of many hopefully) international trips, and it was a wonderful experience. I hope that everyone gets a chance to travels sn experience other people and cultures!

5. Who is inspiring you at the moment and why?
I know this will sound like such a basic answer, but I can’t get enough of Taylor Swift. I love her style and the way she treats her fan. She’s also extremely passionate about what she does, which inspires me. Plus, I just feel like I could hang out with her and be bffs. And her songs are catchy.

6. What is the best meal you’ve ever eaten?
Probably the croque madame and crepes in Paris! I think just being there made the food taste even better.

7. Describe your perfect day.

I feel like my perfect day is something I wouldn’t be able to describe until it happens, if that makes sense?

8. What is one modern convenience that you could really not live without?
Air conditioning. Sweet baby Jesus. One mild day without a/c and I’m a sweaty, oily, whiny mess. <<< I think I’m gonna have to go with Yazzi’s answer on this one! I can’t handle a life with no AC!

9. What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m terrified of the dentist. I’ve had recurring dreams about my teeth falling out or rotting for as long as I can remember. At the same time, I am terrified of getting a cavity (I’ve never had one). It’s a bit of a catch 22!

10. If a movie were made about your life, who would be best cast to play you?
Amy Poehler. Mainly because I love her and she’s adorable a hilarious!

11. Who should read your blog and why?
Every person in the entire universe. My goal with this blog is world domination, so yeah. Also people high up on the fashion chain that will give me free products to feature on my blog.

So that’s it about me! I had to think really hard to come up with 11 (somewhat interesting) facts about myself. I need to get out more…

I nominate Val at That First Hello (if you do these things) because she’s so sweet and I love her blog! Check her out!

Outfit of the Day: Here Comes the Sun

It started pouring down rain about 12 seconds after a took this picture FYI.  I love, love, love this romper! It’s hard to tell in the picture, but it’s a very pretty pale blue. Very comfortable, but just remember: when wearing a romper, do not – I repeat, DO NOT – wait until the last minute to use the bathroom. I can’t stress that enough, ladies.

I know I’ve worn the romper on the blog before, but it’s always a nice challenge to figure out a new way to style something. This time I paired it with my jean jacket – it’s a closet staple that everybody needs – and this fab statement necklace. I’m really happy with how it turned out. The necklace really adds that little something extra!

Outfit of the Day: Soft Pastels

I just love these soft pretty colors! These shorts are seriously one my favorite things in my closet right now. I love the pattern and high-wasted style. I’ve had this top from Loft for ages, and it’s still a favorite. Always looking for new outfits to wear this belt with, and I’m so glad I tried it with this. As always, I can’t get enough of my trusty green linen jacket. It goes with everything! It’s of of those pieces that just really brings the whole outfit together. It’s always nice to put an outfit together you feel good in, and this is definitely one of those! Happy Friday!

Outfit of the Day: Girly Gingham

Gingham is one of those classic patterns that is never going to go out of style. This gingham button up is really basic, but I paired it with these cute scalloped shorts from Loft and added some colorful accessories to kick it up a notch. Love it!

In other news, I have no other news. Things have been super boring around here!

Outfit of the Day: On Repeat

Pretty sure I’ve worn all of this stuff in the last week – but that’s okay! Nothing wrong with repeating items in your closet. You can just find new ways to style them! I wear this oversized dolman top from H&M a lot, mainly because it’s easy and comfortable but still cute. To give it a different look, I tied it up at the bottom and I really like how it turned out! Added my distressed jeans, peep toe booties from Target, and layered necklaces. I also had a hat on, but since I don’t have 12-foot long arms you can’t see it in this picture! Overall the outfit had a casual boho feel. Perfect for summer!
